George Speyerer (spelled Spayer and also seen as Spier and Spyer), enlisted with Milesí Legion 14 Nov 1861 in New Orleans.

Milesí Legion has sometimes been referred to as Gibsonís Battery. (It subsequently became Company K, 21st Regiment Louisiana Infantry.)

 



 

George Spayer enlisted in Miles' Legion, 14 Nov 1861 in New Orleans for the length of the war.


 

 

Above and at right, he was "Transferred from Gibson's Battery Apl 24 1862, by order Maj Genl Bragg."

As stated above, Milesí Legion has sometimes been referred to as Gibsonís Battery.

 



 

Left, George Speyerer served unharmed throughout the war and at its end, appears on a Roll of Prisoners of War.

He was paroled at Meridian, Miss., 10 May 1865.
