D, 43rd Tennessee Infantry, born December 28, 1842, in McMinn, County, enlisted for 12 months November 1, 1861, age 19 at Decatur, Tenn., captured in hospital and paroled at Vicksburg July 4-15, 1863, died at Vicksburg, July 16, 1863,  the day after signing his parole, buried in Soldiers Rest, Vicksburg City Cemetery
