W. Mason Vosburg enlisted at Vicksburg in the 21 Miss Inf on 1 Aug 1861.
On 24 Dec 1862, he was promoted to Captain Wounded "since battle of Wilderness 6 May 1864.. In Sep 1864, he was made Commandant of the post by Lt. Gen.Taylor, as he had a medical certificate of permanent disability, having lost most of his right hand. He was awaiting retirement.
