1st Lt. Thomas J. Hanes was b. 1832, Warren Co.; d. 20 Apr 1886.
His
residence was Vicksburg when he joined 1st Miss. Lt.Arty, Co. G,
(Cowan’s Battery). He enrolled 26 Apr 1862, Vicksburg. He was captured 4 Jul 1863 in Vicksburg, and paroled 7 Jul. He was captured again 16 Dec 1864, Nashville, Tenn., and sent to Louisville, Ky., 6 Feb 1865. He was received at the military prison on 7 Feb. and received at Camp Chase, Ohio, 12 Feb 1865. Lt. Hanes was paroled 19 May 1865, in Jackson, Miss. |
