Green H. Jordan volunteered for the 57th Ga, Co. F, 3 May 1862, in Savannah, Ga. Pvt. Jordan signed up for three years and was paid and signed for a fifty-dollar bounty for joining.

The Fisher Funeral Home records (pg. 156) have a "Jurdon, G. H., 15 Apr 1863; Co. F 57 Ga Reg; No. 1 Hospital, Grave 1012." (See "Sources.") The Vicksburg Cedar Hill/City Cemetery Sexton's record for the burial lists G. H. Jourdan, 57 La [sic], Co. F. Place of death, Hospital No. 1, date of death, 15 Apr 1863, and grave no. 1012.
