Jarnigan, Albert Miller, 2nd Sgt., Co. G, 43rd Tennessee Infantry, enlisted November 20, 1861, at Knoxville, Tenn., as Pvt., appointed 2nd Sgt. August 1, 1862,  November 1862 regimental  return listed as “absent in hospital Frankfort, Ky.,” captured by Federal forces, exchanged November 15, 1862, near Vicksburg, Miss., on board Steamer Maria Denning, sent to camp at Chattanooga, Tenn., n.d., company muster roll for Nov/Dec, 1862,  notes, “Left sick in Tenn. 22 Dec. 62,”  declared exchanged January 11, 1863, mortally wounded June 22, 1863, and died next day, buried in Soldiers Rest, Vicksburg City Cemetery.

A. M. Jarnigan was age 25 when he signed up on 20 Nov 1861 in Knoxville.

 

A. M. Jarnigan was appointed 2nd Sgt. on 1 Aug 1862.

 

He was a prisoner of war, transported on board the Steamer Maria Denning and received near Vicksburg 15 Nov 1862.

 

The following 11 Jan 1863, Jarnigan appears on a list of paroled Confederate prisoners who were declared exchanged.
