Clepper, Wilson, Bvt. 2nd. Lt., Co. E,  43rd Tennessee Infantry, born March 11, 1840, enlisted, age 22,  November 5, 1861  for 12 months at Rogersville, Tenn. as 3rd Sgt., elected 3rd Lt. May 10, 1862, killed in ditches/trenches June 28, 1863, buried in Soldiers Rest, Vicksburg City Cemetery

 

 

 

  

 

At left, this card notes that Wilson Clepper was elected to his rank of 2nd Lt. on 19 May 1862. He was killed 24 Jun 1863. The soldier holding the position before Clepper was C. Jones.
