Casteel, Benjamin F., 1st Cpl., Co. H, 43rd Tennessee Infantry, age 18, enlisted for 12 months November 16, 1861, at Riceville, Tenn., as Pvt., elected 1st Cpl. May 10, 1862, reverted to Pvt. as noted on January 18, 1863, muster, died July 15, 1863, at Vicksburg, Miss., buried at Vicksburg City Cemetery.
