He was 27 years of age when he mustered 6 Mar in the 30 Ala Inf, Co. D. He was captured at Vicksburg 4 Jul 1863 and paroled 8 Jul 1863. He resigned 27 Oct 1863. Note: On none of his fold3 service cards is he referred to as a Chaplain, leading one to think this came after the war.
