On the back of King's monument is an engraving of crossed rifles and a canteen. At the bottom of the circle, "Co. G, 12th Miss."

 

Wilber F. King enlisted 17 Mar 1862 at Natchez for a period of three years. He joined the 21 Miss Reg. He was taken a prisoner of war at Petersburg 2 Apr 1865 and was taken from City Point to Hart's Island, New York. On 6 Jun 1865, he was released by General Order 109 .
