His name was seen with two spellings,
Dedman and Dedmon.
He was promoted to 1st Lt. on 28 May 1861 at
Pensacola, Fla. The handwritten pay information
is illegible.
This request for pay shows his place of residence as Greensboro, Ala.
Lt. Dedman had was proprietor of a successful business
after the war. Vicksburg is where Coca-Cola was first bottled, but it is
unknown if M. L. Dedman's business is connected.
